Past that midnight
After the passion fight
Spent he lay.

The shimmering bedroom light
Hid their faces in shades.

She drew him close.
Rested her face on his bare chest;
Whispered: ‘sweet spending’.

He glanced her sideways.
She was smiling; her eyes.

He caressed her wavy locks.
Within silently exclaimed:
'What a spendthrift is this life! '

The covers were gently pulled up.
They now push them into sleep;
Drown them into another dream.

Outside, Time was busy
Pulling down the covers
To dawn out another day
That to culminate into
Its own night…
