between our hands the blue night
drops on the world

you recede through evening
towards twilight
erasing statues

from my window
the fiesta of sunset in the
distant mountain tops

a piece of sun burns
like a coin
in my hand

I remember you
my soul clenched in that
sadness of mine

like a hurt dog
at my feet
