subsequent to reflection
and after considerable self-recrimination
i have graciously forgiven myself any past transgressions -
the voluntarily imposed veil of deceit
(self-preservation i would once have argued)
now lifted - my world again my own;
the languid apathy of cliched facades
no longer finding sanctuary
in the longitudes and latitudes of my cerebral zone.

now i would ask of you, fellow traveler
have you the courage to do the same
does your love run deep enough
your heart beat strong enough
to reach beyond the was-and-when of it
and leave behind the implanted ghost memories
of a long depraved and antiquated social structure
to step into the new morality
free of the insipid intruders
who would press to act your counsel
in the fog and haze of complacent confusion
that is the blight of mind destitute of vision?
