They once hung a man on a cross so high,
they called him a King and then told him to die,
Nazarenes work the fields, Galileans ride the waves,
but the men who betrayed him are hiding in their caves.
Star of the east, oriental cross,
worshippers are many but still can't see their loss,
he told them not to pray to images of gold,
so they built great statues of him whose numbers are untold,
he said worship only in the silence of your heart,
so they built churches and cathedrals for crowds to take part.
Romans were defeated, children of the pope,
they sent the inquisition round to take away all hope,
witches burn with Judas heart, hanging by a noose,
keep the money rolling in, any change that's loose,
did they see him walk this world, many that he taught,
they hide the truth, keep it locked, deep in Rome's vault.
