A Spanish pilot has died after the Eurofighter jet he was flying crashed just before landing at an air base near Seville.

The Ministry of Defence said it was not yet clear what had caused the crash.

It is the third accident involving a Eurofighter in Spain in just under a decade.

Eurofighters are built by BAE Systems, European aerospace group Airbus and 
Italy’s Finme.
