A cute little piggy will soon be up for adoption in San Bernardino, California. On May 29th, the female pig was removed from a local residence by Animal Control officers.
According to the homeowner, he found the stray pig wandering around in a nearby park so he decided to entice her with food and bring her back to his house. It didn’t take long for the man to realize he couldn’t give her a proper home so he contacted Animal Control staffers.
Thus far, the original owner of the pignow known as A466477 , has not come forward. The 50 pound pot bellied piggy will be placed up for adoption on June 5th, so long as the owner hasn’t claimed her.
Potbellied pigs are considered very intelligent animals. They’re also clean, affectionate and relatively small in size, making them decent human companions.
The adoption fee for A466477, is pretty cheap at $30, but it seems taking her home will require a great deal of luck. San Bernardino’s Police Department Animal Control sergeant says many local residents have expressed interest in her.
Animal Control plans to hold a drawing to make the adoption process fair.
