A new bride in Tennessee decided to involve her one-month-old baby in her wedding ceremony in an unusual way. Shona Carter-Brooks secured her infant daughter to the train of her wedding dress and walked down the aisle while essentially tugging her baby forward.

Photos of the unconventional living bridal accessory soon began making the rounds on social media and many Netizens were unhappy about the decision to attach a baby to a wedding dress.

Some people were so upset over it, they suggested Child Protective Services get involved. Once the negativity continued pouring in, Carter-Brooks took to Facebook to address the complaints.

In a defensive post, she remarked “Media Media I see how it works regardless of the situation or purpose people gone have something negative to say! …Our 1 month old was awake and well secured on my train.”

Carter-Brooks further elaborated via Facebook that her Vera Wang wedding dress was customized to fit and hold the baby. Netizens however were quick to point out that if she tripped while walking down the aisle, the infant could have easily been hurt.
