Ukraine has been given some reprieve over its gas supplies, after Russia's Gazprom extended the deadline to settle a dispute over unpaid gas to 9th June. Moscow confirmed early on Monday that it had received a first instalment of more than $786 million towards Ukraine’s outstanding bill, estimated at more than $5 billion.
