City boss Roberto Mancini wants Samir Nasri signed in time for their Premier League opener on Monday.

City are closing in on a £22million deal to sign the Arsenal midfielder and Mancini wants Nasri in his squad as quickly as possible - ideally for the clash with Swansea at the Etihad Stadium.

"I don't know at the moment the situation," said Mancini. "I hope we can do this very quickly because we need other players.

"The club are still working on this. It is not easy but it is important we complete our squad, in the next days or the next week. I don't know."
