Australia's Socceroos trained for the first time on Brazilian soil on Friday (May 30) at Arena Unimed Sicoob in Vitoria, ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

After a lengthy flight from Australia the team cancelled Thursday's (May 29) training session to recover.

"Obviously we've just come off a long flight so the boys are a little bit tight in the legs but there's, you know, we're trying not to use any excuses and really to have high intensity every day in training," said midfielder Oliver Bozanic.

The 27-man squad will be narrowed down to the final 23 on Monday (June 2). Coach Ange Postecoglou has selected an inexperienced squad with a smattering of players who will be playing in their third successive World Cup finals.

The Socceroos ranked 59th in the world and the lowest ranked team at the World Cup will face world champions Spain, 2010 finalists the Netherlands, and Chile in their first round group
