Brazilian team is swarmed by anti-World Cup demonstrators

Surrounded by a sea of cameras and security personnel, Brazil's world cup team arrives in Rio.

Teachers also swarm the athletes, voicing their concerns over a lack of resources in their education system.

(SOUNDBITE) (Portuguese) DEMONSTRATOR TEACHER IDENTIFIED ONLY AS RAFAEL, SAYING:

"We are lacking resources. My school, for example, lacks water and chairs and we are here calling for quality education."

Brazilian goalie Julio Cesar is taking the protests in stride, keeping his mind on the game.

(SOUNDBITE) (Portuguese) BRAZIL GOALKEEPER, JULIO CESAR, SAYING:

"The cup is special, without a doubt. [Inaudible]. There are high expectations. We are going to do good work."

Demonstrators say the government should have put the money used to build costly World Cup stadiums towards hospitals and schools.
