Cops certainly get to witness some downright weird stuff. Staffers with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office in Kansas recently witnessed a bizarre sight.

Two adult cows were spotted walking right next to the New Century Adult Detention Center near Olathe. That alone is strange in and of itself, but what makes the ordeal even weirder is that the cows seemingly showed a genuine interest in getting into the jail.

Surveillance video captured the incident. The cows, which had reportedly gotten loose, can be seen through the glass panel windows. They sniffed out the windows and went right up to the entry doors, making their brazen curiosity quite clear.

A caption on the Johnson County Sheriff's Office Facebook page notes “The reason our detention deputies won’t say they have seen it all. The day the cows came to visitation at our jail.”

The cows never did figure out a way to make it inside. However staffers were quick to point out they’re glad the facility isn’t equipped with automatic doors, which would have given the cattle the perfect opportunity to prance right on in.
