According to the woman's daughter, she met Workman online.
In early April they developed a relationship of sorts and arranged an in-person meeting. The mother had no idea what was going on at the time.
After the meeting, which took place on or around April 27th, the girl brought Workman back to her house, where police say he sexually assaulted her. Her parents say their daughter allowed him to enter and leave the home when they were not around
“During the day he was either in her closet or in her bedroom, and when she would come home from school or on the weekend or whatever, he would come out in evenings.” [WCNC]
Reportedly he hid inside the home and on May 2nd, the girl’s mother opened up her daughter’s closet to find Workman inside. When Workman realized he had been caught, he bolted out of the closet and ran out the house, but not before telling the shocked mom his full name and giving her a bogus age of 19.
He left his wallet and cellphone behind so cops had no trouble catching up with him. Police now believe he lived in the closet for five full days.
Workman was arrested and is now facing ‘11 counts of statutory rape and five counts of statutory sex offense’.
