It was about 4 in the morning on a recent Thursday when Sharon Bente heard what she originally thought was her patio chairs blowing around her porch from a storm. She went outside to make sure everything was all right and that’s when she spotted an 8-foot long alligator hanging out in her pool.

"You hear a noise in the backyard and you step outside to check it out. Imagine if what you discovered was this - a gator in your pool." [ABC]

It was about 4 in the morning on a recent Thursday when Sharon Bente heard what she originally thought was her patio chairs blowing around her porch from a storm.

She went outside to make sure everything was all right and that’s when she spotted an 8-fool long alligator hanging out in her pool.

Panicked, she walked back in the house and woke up her husband, John. Together the couple watched the gator swim around in circles before contacting the Sheriff's Department.

A trapper was then notified of the situation and arrived at the home to safely remove the gator. From there, the creature was transported to an alligator farm in Arcadia.

The gator reportedly gained access to the pool by ripping through screens on the property. Sharon commented “It turns out we just had a few screens that needed repairing and it is a great story, it is a fun story and hopefully it just won't happen again.”
