Rescue workers patrol streets on boats in a town southwest of Belgrade.

Parts of Serbia and Bosnia have been hit by the worst floods ever recorded. At least five people have died in the unfolding disaster this week.

Homes in this town of 25,000 are submerged. Everyone has been ordered to evacuate.

Shelters have been set up in Belgrade.

Some have lost everything.

Others don't know what they left behind.

"Well the flashfloods woke my uncle around 3.30 in the morning. So they went up to the first floor, the basement was flooded. Then they had to go to the third floor because all lower floors were flooded. The last time I spoke to him was yesterday around 11.00 in the morning.
