A wildfire in San Diego’s North County prompted the evacuation of thousands of homes on Tuesday, May 13. The Bernardo Fire has destroyed over 800 acres of land near Santaluz and the Black Mountain Ranch. Helicopters and fire planes dropped water and flame retardant in a bid to control the fire which was fuelled by hot weather and gusty Santa Ana winds. Credit: Paul Vasquez
