It’s at the centre of a bidding war between General Electric and Siemens, but profits at French engineering firm Alstom fell 28 percent in the year to the end of March. The French government has rejected GE’s €12 billion offer for its power generation business that’s also being eyed by Siemens. Also today: Fiat Chrysler wants to boost sales by 2 million units by 2018.
