Drought and delayed monsoons have created huge water shortages in Myanmar.

Now they are lining up for relief in Dala township just to the south west of Yangon.

Donors from the capital city paid for the water to be piped in from downtown Yangon.

Along with the relief comes joy.

"I am so happy, Son. It's been a while since we had drinking water. We are now facing a water shortage. I really value this water because drinking water is very important."

Myanmar media has reported water shortages spreading nation-wide since April due to the late start of the monsoon season.
