A car bomb's being blamed for the explosion that ripped through a suburb of the Nigerian capital.
At least 15 people died in the blast.
Victoria James says her sister was among the victims.
(SOUNDBITE)(English) VICTORIA JAMES, SISTER OF VICTIM, SAYING:
"I saw her, she is already dead so I'm aware of that. Then I called the rest of my brothers. They says they take them to the hospital, national hospital, but I'm here for her."
The explosion happened in the Abuja satellite town of Nyanya.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
But the blast was close to the scene of a bombing at a bus station last month that killed at least 75 people.
That attack was claimed by the Boko Haram group which wants to carve out an Islamist enclave in Nigeria.
This latest bloodshed is an embarrassment for the government which announced a massive security operation ahead of May's World Economic Forum on Africa which Abuja is hosting.
