Not since The Wire have the streets of Baltimore been this hot as UFC 172 rolls in this Saturday with UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones facing off against Glover Teixeira.
Jones will put his light heavyweight title on the line against No. 2 contender Glover Teixeira. Jones is nearly an 11-to-2 favorite to keep his belt, with Glover getting about 4-to-1 odds on the takeback.
Jones (19-1) has defended his title successfully six times. Teixeira (22-2) is on a 20-fight win streak.
Jones is the youngest champion in UFC history and has been nearly unstoppable in the octagon. His devastating knees and elbows compliment his dominating ground game.
The heavy punching Brazilian grew up idolizing Mike Tyson and has been training with UFC hall of famer Chuck Liddell. Jones will have to watch out for his guillotine chokes.
The easy bet would be to go with Jones, but if you were a gambling man, Teixeira might have some tricks up his sleeve. Who knows, maybe he can summon his inner Mike Tyson?
