Bollywood has already witnessed a wide range of films that corner around a detective plot! But in spite of the overdone genre, director Kaushik Ghatak has attempted to try his luck at khufiya jasoosi with his recent release, Samrat and Co. Starring TV fame Rajeev Khandelwal and Madalsa Sharma in leads, while this film made a minimal contribution in the high buzz columns, but the plot and its animation backing has further being appreciated for its unconventional efforts! So having released the film on the 25th of April, 2014, here is a quick review on far has this Samrat and Co. managed to live up to the expectations set.
Firstly, a quick brush up through the film's plot! 'Samrat & Co.' is an engaging story of an intellectual detective Samrat Tilakdhari who is approached by Dimpy Singh to solve a strange case that is moving around her hometown Shimla, wherein even her father Mahendra Pratap Singh has been receiving threat mails from unknown stalkers! However, this case further takes a whole new turn when Mahendra Pratap faces a sudden death. So what lies next and how does Samrat manage to solve this entangled case is what the entire film is all about.
Now as per the plot, the film definitely has an enthralling catch of suspense which gives you an anxiety to watch the sequence lying next! But well, even exciting story gets a thumbs down if it has a weak narration, right? So same happens in this case too! A lot of haywire scenes with a web of confusion might turn you off! But don't dishearten, we still have its star cast for some brownie right? Sinking into his detective role play, Rajeev has put in major efforts to deliver a great show through this film! And his cute little co-star, Madalsa too charms like an innocent bud in a flower garden! Meanwhile, Naveen Prabhakar was hilarious on his part but other than that, the rest of the cast was highly wasted!
To sum it up, Samrat and Co. is quite on an average with some engaging twists and suspense to look out for!
