Japanese deputy prime minister Aso Taro wishes that old and sick people would "hurry up and die." The verbal-blunder-prone minister recently attended a meeting, and when addressing the issue of elders care, was quoted as calling hospice patients "tubed people", adding that they are a drain on the nation's medical system. The 72-year-old allegedly commented, "I would wake up feeling increasingly bad knowing that [treatment] was all being paid for by the government," and "The problem won't be solved unless you let them hurry up and die."
