Eight members of a family, including three children and two elderly, were found killed in their home in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico on Sunday (November 17). The motive for the attack remains unknown.

The victims included two girls and a boy under the age of 7, two women aged 60 and 28, and three men aged 30 to 60. It was reported that all eight victims were tied up and had been repeatedly stabbed.

According to Reuters the victims were devout Jehovah's Witnesses. Friends of the family went to their house and found the bodies after the family failed to attend services.

Local media reported that a 2-month-old baby originally listed as missing was found alive by and unharmed by neighbours.

Mexico's northern border city of Ciudad Juarez was considered the most violent city in the world until a few years ago. A group of gunmen killed 10 people, including a 6-year-old girl on the outskirts of Ciudad Juarez in September.
