A man in Flint, Michigan recently expressed his gratitude to two women who saved his life. On March 29th, the ladies had been working their shift at Burger King when 46-year-old Howard Turner Jr. pulled up to the drive through speaker.

Assistant Manager Lidia Rodriguez greeted the customer but got no response. She immediately suspected something wasn’t quite right. She walked to a back room so she could see the man and told him to raise his hand if he was okay. Turner did not move.

Rodriguez and her co-worker, Kelseigh Valdez stepped up to help the man. Together, they ran outside and pulled Turner out of his seat. Rodriguez then called 911, as Valdez who had previously taken part in a volunteer paramedic course, performed CPR in a desperate attempt to save his life.

The efforts of both the women did just that. According to paramedics who arrived on scene shortly after he went into cardiac arrest, Turner would have died had it not been for Valdez and Rodriguez.

Turner is now recovering and has called the two women his ‘angels’. The non-profit group, Mobile Medical Response recently presented both ladies with a life-saving award for their heroic actions.

Valdez got a little something extra; she was offered a scholarship to fulfill her dream and become a professional paramedic.
