Peoria, Illinois police raided the house of the suspected creators of a fake Twitter account that parodied Mayor Jim Ardis. The account had been closed for several weeks prior to police questioning five individuals on Tuesday.

Seven officers in street clothes executed a warrant at 1220 N. University St. on Tuesday evening. Police seized cell phones and computers from the home and took the three residents in for questioning.

"They just asked me about the Twitter account, if I knew anything about it," said Michelle Pratt, a resident who was in the shower when officers arrived. "They brought me in like I was a criminal."

Another resident, Jacob L. Elliott, was charged with possession of marijuana after police found his weed stash during their search, but no arrests were made in connection to the Twitter account.

The account posted about 50 tweets with references to sex and drugs prior to being shut down. It wasn't it obvious that the account was a joke until its description was updated as such March 10.

The creator of the fake Twitter account could face up to a year in jail for false imprisonment of a public official.
