A Malaysian bus traveling to Genting Highlands overturned on Monday morning (November 11), injuring some of the passengers. According to local reports, the bus, carrying 22 people, was traveling along Jalan Batang Kali. At around 5:00 a.m., a car driving on the wrong lane of the road approached the vehicle. The bus driver swerved and lost control of the vehicle to avoid the car, causing the bus to land in a ditch by the roadside.
According to local reports, rescue teams arrived at the scene about half an hour after the accident.
One of the passengers, identified as Chong Ah Seong, 58, broke his leg while he was trapped inside the bus. He was sent to Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital for treatment.
All the other passengers escaped with only minor injuries.
According to The Star, the weather was fair, though the road was dark due to the lack of streetlights in the area.
The case is now being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act of 1987.
