These assembly polls may see a contest between two Team Anna members, if former IPS officer Kiran Bedi accepts BJP's offer to take on Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi constituency. Top sources in the party have confirmed that Bedi, a known BJP supporter, has been asked to stand against Kejriwal.

When contacted, Bedi neither confirmed nor denied the news. "I am not interested in electoral politics and I have maintained this all throughout," said Bedi.

However, it is being understood that Bedi is not keen on accepting the offer as it will not do much good to her social stature. "Defeating Dikshit won't be easy. If she does win, she might end up becoming a regular MLA, which doesn't suit her stature. The party should offer her the chief ministerial post on winning," said a BJP leader.@nstv
