A man in New Jersey is making his way to Boston. 59-year-old Larry Grogin is taking part in the journey on foot. He recently started running the 250 miles to Boston from the Franklin Lakes Municipal Building.

What makes the feat noteworthy is that he was approximately 100 yards from the finish line in Boston last year when the first bomb went off. Although he wasn’t injured, the traumatic event made the experienced runner contemplate giving up his passion altogether.

Reflecting on his thought process, Grogin remarked “What in the world am I thinking? Let's give up on triathlons and Ironmans and marathons.”

However, after some long thought, Grogin realized no terroristic attack or threat would stop him from doing what he loved. This year, when he arrives in Boston, he will be competing in the marathon to pay an anniversary tribute to the victims.

Just like the previous year, Grogin will also be running and raising funds for The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a charity that sends seriously ill children to camps.

Grogin, along with his running partner, John Renaldo will cover about 32 miles a day until they get to Boston.
