My kids were so excited to get this geode kit and insisted they take it over to their grandparents house to open the rocks alongside with them. They love doing science projects with their grandpa, so they wanted to share working on this kit with him. So on our next visit with them, we brought along this Ultimate Geode kit and worked on it. My son and his grandfather cut open a few with a diamond blade saw, while my daughter worked with grandma at the table to open others with a hammer. After opening a few with the saw, the rest were opened by hammer, which worked very well. Each rock was a fun surprise, never knowing what the next one would contain. The colors of the crystals ranged from deep black to a bright white. There was an even mix of the different colored crystals in the package, which worked out well since they were divided up between each of my kids. This kit would be a fun idea for a class project and it makes for a really unique birthday gift, Christmas gift or any other sort of activity for group of kids. It's well suited for a wide range of ages and everyone working on them has fun, both the kids and the adults. We all had a great time working on this kit. I would high recommend it to anyone!
