German authorities have confirmed they’re investigating the country’s biggest ever theft of internet data.

Hackers stole details of 18 million email accounts.

All major internet providers were affected and some accounts were reportedly accessed.

Some had international domains such as .com; it is unclear how many were outside Germany.
