Man overboard rescued in Clipper Race

The Derry-Londonderry-Doire somewhere in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday.

Its crew, scrambling to win the 'round the world Clipper yacht race.

Then suddenly, a crew member realizes someone's gone overboard.

Everyone goes into rescue mode.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) SKIPPER, SEAN MCCARTER, MAKING MAYDAY CALL:

"Mayday, mayday, mayday. This is Charlie Victor three zero. We have a man overboard..."

They're looking for a 46-year-old British man, Andrew Taylor from London.

There he is.

He spent an hour and a half in the water before he was found.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) BRITISH MAN WHO FELL OVERBOARD, ANDREW TAYLOR, SAYING:

"I didn't know if you were looking for me or not, I didn't know if you'd seen me....I tried to stay so that I could see the boat, I kept moving myself around, swimming round so I could see the boat thinking you'd be back really quickly, but it just got further and further away."
