Police have made five arrests for labour exploitation crimes after finding people working in unhealthy and unhygienic conditions at a vegetable processing plant in south east Italy.

Some 54 undocumented Bulgarians and Romanians were found to have been working at the plant in the city of Foggia more than 12 hours a day for less than 15 euros.
