A college student in Houston, Lauren Firmin is claiming that her straight-A average is now in jeopardy because her instructor allegedly taught her the wrong course.

According to Firmin, her Fall 2013 semester at Lonestar College- University Park turned into a nightmare. The class giving her all the trouble was a beginner ‘Intro to Chemistry’ course.

Prior to enrolling in the class, she had a pristine 4.0 grade average. Despite studying as often and hard as she could, Firmin’s grades rapidly slid downhill. She was, on average, getting 40s on her tests.

Not long before the final exam was scheduled, Firmin learned why she was having such a hard time understanding the curriculum. Firmin says her instructor, Thao Shirley Nguyen admitted that she taught the class general chemistry all semester, which is an advanced course.

Nguyen offered to give all the students extra credit to their existing grades, however for Firmin, it isn’t enough because her GPA still won’t be 4.0 even with the credit boost.

Nguyen refused to comment on the allegations when questioned by a reporter.

He did say the administration would look into the allegations.
