The Monmouth County Narcotics Strike Force along with authorities from the Neptune City and Tinton Falls police departments seized 478 bricks, which equates to 24 hundred heroin bags in one of the busts that went down on March 7th.

A string of drug busts in New Jersey has led to the seizure of thousands of heroin bags. In the past month alone, 16 people were arrested as part of numerous separate drug stings.

The Monmouth County Narcotics Strike Force along with authorities from the Neptune City and Tinton Falls police departments seized 48 bricks, which equates to 24 hundred heroin bags in one of the busts that went down on March 7th.

In that shocking and very important seizure, they also took in a 2010 Acura along with $5,000 in cash, as investigators believe both the car and money were proceeds from the sale of the heroin.

Another bust occurred less than a week later on March 12th. In that one, 200 bags of heroin were seized in addition to roughly half an ounce of cocaine from an apartment in Asbury Park.

Fast forward to March 21st, when the narcotics strike force and local police officials conducted searches at two additional Asbury Park homes both in the same block. In one they took in an undisclosed amount of heroin, and at the other seized an additional 40 bags of heroin.

Acting County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni commented ‘When it comes to drug interdiction in Monmouth County heroin is our number one priority. Heroin is killing our young people in record numbers and it is the cause of a lot of crime here and across the country.’
