A Chinese college student was stabbed to death in the girls' dormitory by her ex-boyfriend on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Yu-Jin (余瑾), studied at Huihua University (懷化學院) in China's Hunan Province (湖南). Her friends recounted that Yu-Jin was a vivacious and gentle girl who was active in the university's dance troupe.

The incident occurred last Sunday evening around 7:40 p.m. after Yu-Jin took the train back to school, where her ex-boyfriend Yin Wei (尹偉) had been waiting in her dorm.

Yin Wei threatened to kill her roommates unless they leave the room. Yu-Jin was stabbed 21 times in less than 20 minutes. This is the second time Yin Wei has attacked Yu-Jin.

The couple started dating in 2012.The 26-year-old man felt insecure about the relationship and hired a private investigator to find out about Yu-Jin's activities. He traveled to his girlfriend's family's home, where he first stabbed the victim in her thigh in December last year.

The suspect has been taken into custody after turning himself into police yesterday. He confessed to killing Yu-Jin as revenge for her rejecting him.
