Eight people were shot dead at a faith healer's house in Pakistan's port city of Karachi on Sunday (February 9).

According to AFP, the shooting took place at Baldia town, a low-income neighbourhood of Karachi. Six gppunmen on three motorcycles stormed into the house shortly after dark and started firing. There was a power outage in the area during the time of the shooting.

Eight people, including an 8-year-old girl, were killed and at least 12 others were wounded in the shooting. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The faith healer Pir Meharban Shah sustained a bullet wound to his abdomen but survived. He said he had not received any threats prior to the attack.

The assailants reportedly fired 9 mm pistols, a weapon used in a series of targeted killings in the city.
