Eyewitnesses say dozens of anti-government protesters were arrested in clashes with police in Caracas on Sunday.
They were marching toward a military base in the latest demonstration against President Nicolas Maduro's government.
Security forces stopped them from reaching the base.
A group of student protesters diverted their march to an opposition stronghold, where police fired teargas, and demolished barricades.
The students retaliated by throwing rocks.
At least 28 people have been killed in the last six weeks in anti-government protests -- and some 1,500 arrested.
They're protesting issues ranging from crime to shortages of goods.
The Maduro government has come under criticism for being heavy-handed with protesters.
Around 21 officers have reportedly been arrested on allegations of brutality.
