Following a severe drought, rains are finally falling on California.

But it's not all good news.

Worries loom over whether the rainfall could prompt flooding, which led to flash flood warnings across parts of Southern California

It poses a threat to foothill communities in particular, where recent wildfires stripped vegetation from large areas.

That left homes like these in Azusa, California vulnerable to potential mudslides.

They're on alert for possible power outages as well.

The rains are expected to continue through Sunday, which could dampen the red carpet arrivals at the Academy Awards in Hollywood.

Last month, California Governor Jerry Brown declared a drought emergency.

But officials say the rainfall isn't enough to offset years of drought.
