A 57-year-old van driver was arrested on Monday for allegedly attempting to hide the body of a woman he hit with his vehicle in Handa Aichi. The 62-year-old victim, Naoko Sato, is said to have been run down by Kosuke Terazawa while she was taking her dog for a walk on Monday morning. Sato was reportedly sandwiched between the van and a crash barrier, severing her legs and killing her. Her dead dog was also found at the scene.

The woman's naked body led police to suspect that Terazawa took off Sato's clothes to hide evidence of the fatal crash. When a woman living in the next street heard a loud noise and looked out of the window, Terazawa asked her whether she'd got a jack she could lend him.

When the cops arrived at the scene of the crash, they found blood stains on the van and crash barrier. Sato's body was discovered floating in a nearby reservoir.Terazawa denies involvement in the crash, saying that he doesn't remember running down the woman. Terazawa continues to be grilled by investigators about the accident, while the cops plan to carry out an autopsy to find the cause of death.
