It's been one day since a bomb tore through this busy shopping district in the Thai capital...and the death toll continues to rise.

A young girl died on Monday from brain injuries sustained by the blast. Pictures of her can be seen on this medical volunteer's mobile.

Her four-year-old brother and a 59-year-old woman died the previous day, bringing the number of dead to three.

More than 20 people were wounded.

(SOUNDBITE) (Thai) PROTESTERS' MEDIC VOLUNTEER, PRASIT KERDPOOM SAYING;

"He (the wounded boy) is about my son's age. He was choking and I felt really sad and thought if he was my son, I would have gone mad. I can't accept this."

Relatives of the family who died left the hospital weeping, as officials carried out the coffins of their loved ones.

(SOUNDBITE) (Thai) VICTIMS' FATHER THAYAKORN YOS-UBON SAYING:

"Why has this happened to my children? I hope all sides realize that my family right now is suffering and it is unbearable."
