Lawful Killers: Brits hooked on 'legal highs' as govt turns blind eye to dangers

The "addicted man of Europe" - that's the reputation the UK has earned itself in recent years, according to a leading social policy think-tank. Their report suggests one in every 12 Brits, between the age of 15 and 24, has tried so-called legal highs. That means a total of around 670-thousand youngsters. These drugs won't land you in jail, but - as studies show - could be every bit as dangerous as their blacklisted equivalents. Since 2010, the government has put temporary bans on 15 such substances, but the substitute drugs are popping up at a faster rate than the regulators can handle.
