It’s often said that any publicity is good publicity, but one UK business may not agree.

It’s often said that any publicity is good publicity, but one UK business may not agree.

Recently, a casino in Northampton, UK sent around an image that made it appear they’d projected a picture of a nearly naked woman onto a nearby church tower.

Now that the publicity stunt is drawing a great amount of criticism and general uproar, they’re saying the whole thing was faked.

Aspers Casino originally issued a press release that included the photo of a 30-foot tall barely-dressed woman projected onto the religious building.

The accompanying text promoted the establishment’s upcoming Valentine’s Day strip poker event.

Well, the press release worked, because they got all sorts of attention, just not the positive kind.

Among those who found the ad to be disrespectful was the church’s priest.

He said, "It was distasteful and I feel rather badly used."

In the wake of the outrage, the casino admitted that the image was never actually projected onto the church and the illusion was created using computer software.

They’ve extended their apologies and promised to make amends to the priest.
