The Karan Johar film Shuddhi seems to be an interesting venture with much drama over the star cast of the film even before it could go on floors. Going by the turn of events, alleged lovers Deepika and Ranveer may replace ex-flames Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor in the film Shuddhi.

To begin with, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor were Karan Johar’s initial choices for the film which is based on the concept of re-birth. However, owing to Kareena’s lost star appeal post Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and Satyagraha and Deepika Padukone’s super success in 2013, Karan Johar may replace Kareena with Deepika in order to confirm the film’s success.

Shuddhi was much talked about the union of Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan after a decade long break. Hrithik and Kareena were last seen in Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon in 2003. But due to the two coming closer on the film, father Rakesh Roshan barred him from doing more films with her to save his new married life with Suzzane Roshan.

As the fans were eagerly waiting to see Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone together on screen for the first time, Hrithik walked out of the film due to his prevailing health problems. Now with Deepika in the lead role, Karan Johar is set to search the lead actor to compliment her in the film. Looking up at the options available, Karan Johar may rope in Ranveer Singh for the flick.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika hit the bull’s eye with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela and are now playing husband and wife in Finding Fanny Fernandes.

If the buzz is to be believed, Karan Johar may rope in Ranveer Singh to step into Hrithik Roshan’s shoes as Deepika and Ranveer are going strong on the personal front. And who knows, Shuddhi may unite Ranveer and Deepika forever.
