One mayoral candidate in Paris said that if elected, she will work to make use of some of the city’s defunct subway stations.

Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet plans to have them transformed into entertainment venues.

She’s already enlisted the help of an architect and a planner to help figure out the best way to make the changes happen.

Thus far, the proposals include a pool, a theater, a club, and a restaurant.

Said one of the designer’s, "This project aims to bring back to life these ghost stations by giving them a new purpose. To swim in the metro seems like a crazy dream, but it could soon come true!"

Kosciusko-Morizet announced that as mayor she would also take transformation suggestions from the city’s residents.

Critics of the new plans for the old stations point out that repurposing the abandoned railway stops would be both difficult and expensive.

Among the issues needing to be dealt with are narrow platforms and electric rails. Some of the ghost stations also still have trains pass through them.

Supporters don’t see any of those issues as being unsolvable.
