Two female Chihuahuas were recently rescued in Nashville. The dogs were covered in blue plumber’s glue.

It’s both heartbreaking and maddening when helpless animals end up in the wrong human hands. Two female Chihuahuas were recently discovered in Nashville. The dogs were covered in blue plumber’s glue.

The sticky, high strength substance eventually hardened leaving the pooches powerless. A landlord was responsible for discovering them in an abandoned house.

The dogs were placed with Nashville’s Metro Animal Care and Control. Veterinarians quickly went to work and shaved off as much of the glue as they possibly could.

However, in some areas the adhesive could not be removed. It may take weeks for the remainder to come off.

Shelter workers have named the Chihuahuas Diamond and Opal. Animal control officers are determined to find to the suspects behind the cruel act.

They have launched an investigation and asked the public for tips. Bill Biggs, who is a cruelty investigator stated “You go from being sad to being mad. There's no reason to do this to an animal.”

For now, Diamond and Opal are eating, drinking and resting.
