School No. 263 in Moscow's Otradnoe was cordoned off by police all day on February 3. A straight-A tenth-grader, took up arms and went to his school to kill. He ordered the guard, who met him at the entrance, to follow him. The guard managed to press the emergency button. The tragedy occured on the ground floor, where graduate Sergey Gordeev shot his geography teacher. A police officer, who arrived at the call, was fatally shot, another one was wounded. The young man took 20 children hostage. Presumably, the teenager committed the crime because of a conflict with his teacher of geography, Andrei Kirillov.

After the hostages were released, and the suspect surrendered, the children were not allowed out of school for a few hours. Their parents were literally storming the building worring for their loved ones.

According to the representative of the Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin, Gordeev fired his gun 11 times.

The teenager will have to go through psychiatric examination. Sergey Gordeev's classmates say he was a secluded and unsociable man. However , this behavior does not speak for anything, especially for the intention to shoot to kill
