Catching a taxi at most airports is time consuming and no fun at all.

With that in mind, a hotel in northern Norway is offering a nostalgic service in an effort to attract tourists, and the local airport is on board with the idea. Those brave enough to endure the cold weather are now able to go for a dog sled ride.

The canine taxi picks passengers up from the airport and takes them about 45 minutes away to the Kirkenes Snow Hotel. As part of the journey, sled riders take in the gorgeous views of the surrounding woods and wildlife.

The Kirkenes Snow Hotel’s chief executive described his own experience stating “It was a fantastic trip back. We met a hundred reindeer on the way back as we were driving south, and we had he sun right in our nose. It really felt good to get started."

The sled service recently picked up its first set of passengers. The hope is that in the near future, the dog sled will be offered as exclusive transportation from the airport to the hotel.
