The Novia Scotia resident was hurt in August of 2011 when a dump truck veered into her lane and caused the crash.

Since, she’s begun pursuing a lawsuit against both the driver and the company he was working for.

Among the claims she’s making is that the accident resulted in a diminished ability to engage in a social life, and that includes the time she’s able to spend on Facebook.

The other side’s lawyers want proof, and began demanding that she make her social media account public, rather than just viewable by friends.

She refused and the matter was presented before a judge, who determined that simply providing information like log in and off times was ample information for the defense.

According to the Nova Scotia Supreme Court judge presiding over her case, suits involving Facebook and similar sites are becoming increasingly common.

While this issue of how much information she’s required to provide opposing counsel has been resolved, the claim at large has yet to be heard by the court.
