NASA has released new video of a partial solar eclipse that happened on Thursday.

The solar light show which can only be seen in space was captured by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory.

The partial solar eclipse lasted two and a half hours, the longest ever recorded.

NASA says this type of lunar transit happens two to three times a year.
