According to the advocacy group, the Arakan Project, over a dozen Rohingya Muslims, including women and children, have been killed in a new attack by a Buddhist mob. The violence apprantly took place in an isolated village in the northern Rakhine state. The rights group also said that the victims have been stabbed to death. Local officials have confirmed that the situation is tense there, but denied any deaths. Hundreds of people have been killed in attacks against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar over the past year. Some one-hundred 40-thousand more, mostly Muslims, have also been forced to flee their homes. The UN has described Rohingya Muslims as one of the most persecuted minorities in the world.
